Spray cork is priced per square metre of wall, but the headline rate is only half the story. Preparation, access, scaffolding and the number of coats all move the final figure.
This guide sets out realistic ranges so you can sanity-check any quote you receive, and explains why two quotes for the same house can differ by thousands of pounds.
Typical UK prices
Most UK quotes land between £38 and £65 per square metre of treated wall, including preparation and application. Smaller jobs sit at the top of that range because fixed costs such as scaffolding are spread over less area.

- Semi-detached house: roughly £4,000 – £8,000
- Detached house: roughly £7,000 – £14,000
- Bungalow: roughly £3,500 – £7,500
What drives the price up or down
The biggest single variable is the condition of the wall underneath. A sound, dry, previously rendered wall needs little more than a clean and a primer. Failing pebbledash, damp patches or spalled brickwork all need repair first, and that repair is a separate trade cost.

Spray cork is not generally treated as a recognised insulation measure under UK grant schemes, which focus on cavity, loft and certified external wall insulation systems. Check current scheme rules before assuming any funding is available.
Does the price include preparation?+
Not always. Preparation is the most common exclusion in a low quote, so ask for it to be itemised separately.
